2 1/22/20162 This 3-credit first course for computer science & IT majors, which provides students the basic understanding of the most exciting area of computer security. This course is designed for those students with no prior knowledge of Data Security technology. It describes the basic concepts, which underpin the technology of data security systems. The main areas covered are Public Key Cryptography, Digital Signatures, Identification and Authentication, Secret Sharing Keys, Subliminal Channels, Special Protocols, Internet and Web Security, and e- commerce Security.

4 1/22/20164 Office Hours  Please use my office hours ONLY.  Check the time before you come in.

5 1/22/20165 Project & Homework  There will be a group project which will be given to students later in this course.  This course does not teach any programming language.  Student must learn PL as requested on their own.

6 1/22/20166  Projects & Homework: – copied. –1% similar. – written together Will Result In Course Failure.  Everyone must write up their own work.  Late submission will be result in harsh deduction. 

7 1/22/20167  Any student who get 3 absences will definitely fail in this course.  Switch OFF your mobiles.  Do not come late to class.

8 1/22/20168 Grading  20% : First Exam.  20% : Second Exam.  10% : Project.  10% : Participation & Presentations.  40% : Final Exam.
