6 Marion Romney refereed to learning about history as the Tragic cycle of civilization. A cycle propelled by anyone who seeks for power and gain. Was it not this (power and gain) that lead Cain to commit the first murder? We are living in the most exciting time of History. It is also the most challenging time in history. Cannon

7 Social Sciences Government- Study of Laws Economics- Study of the way people make a living. The production to goods and services and how there disrupted. Geography- Study of the earth the people their environment and their resources. History- Study of events and people of the past.

8 Behavioral Sciences Sociology- S tudy of how people live in communities and the kind of group they form. Psychology- The study of the mind and behavior Anthropology- Study of the origin of human beings and their cultural developments. Archaeology- Study of early human remains.

9 5 Major Themes of Geography Location - Location - Where something is. Latitude: The lines on a map or globe measuring the distance North and South of the Equator. Longitude: Lines measuring the distance East and West. Place- Place- Physical and human characteristics of a specific location. Interactions between People and their Environment: Interactions between People and their Environment: How people have been effected by their environment and how they use it to help themselves. Movement- Movement- Why and how people move to search for a better food supply and living area. This helps us to understand the spread of diseases or air pollution and the introduction of products from one place to another. Regions- Regions- a area with specific characteristics i.e. physical- language- religion - economics and politics.
