4. Biography Edgar Allen Poe did not have an easy life. When Poe was only 2 years old, his mother died of tuberculosis. She had separated from her husband so her kids were orphans. Edgar was Adopted by Mr. And Mrs. John Rosalie. Poe had a troubled life. When Poe was 27, he married his 13 year old cousin, Virginia. Poe tried to start a magazine called the stylus, but it did not work.

5. Bio. Continued……. He was very poor and could barely make a living. In 1847, 10 days after Edgar’s birthday, his wife, Virginia, died of tuberculosis. Edgar was deeply distressed by this. Nobody knows how Edgar died. He was found in Gunners Hall. He was taken to the hospital. He was there for three days, and then died. He died on October 17, 1849, in the hospital.

6. Poe's Death There are many Theories on Edgar Allen Poe’s death. It is still a mystery to us all. I think the most logical theory, is that he was drunk and fell into a gutter. Then was found and carried to a local building by someone, where he was then picked up by the hospitable. Because, Poe would be drunk often at the end of his life.

8. The Mask of the Red Death  My favorite story we have read is “ The Mask Of the Red Death”. It is the disease, the red death, is going around killing off a lot of the population. So, Prince Prospero takes 1000 of his healthy men and women and takes them into a fortress and then he has a party. At twelve o’clock midnight, the author uses suspense because every time the bell chimes every thing gets very quite.

9. Continued........ When the bell chimes midnight, a figure walks into the room dressed in a burial shroud. It looked like someone who had died from the red death. Everybody in the fort dropped dead.

10. Conclusion  Poe is like the father of the modern day horror story, because he sounds mad. Like someone who is crazy and not in their right mind and wrote very scary books. I did not make any connections with Poe’s life. I think that I am pretty much sane. I enjoyed his story's immensely. They were never boring and they were mostly creepy, weird or scary.
