Concentrate on shape and texture, experiment with different kinds of mark making. This drawing should be done with only HB pencil. Make sure you choose to place the toy at an angle you feel you can draw it from.

2. Art and Design Silver task Year 9 Produce an observational drawing of a teddy or toy that represents your primary days. Concentrate on shape, texture and tonal shading. Try to use many different types of mark making to build up texture and tone. Pay attention to detail like: stitching and added features (eyes/nose/mouth) This drawing should almost fill your page, so try to draw it the necessary scale to achieve this.

3. Art and Design Gold task Year 9 Produce an observational drawing of a few toys. Concentrate on shape, texture (mark making), tone through use of mark making, and composition. Arrange (composition) these toys in an interesting way, think about balance in the drawing, combine different toys to create a more creative or meaningful composition. Also think about scale: could you make this drawing more exciting by increasing the scale to show a close up section of a collection of toys? You can do this drawing in pencil or pen, or try one of each to compare.
