The American Council for Technology (ACT) is a membership-driven nonprofit government organization that leads the government IT community to improve government – ACT seeks more government members like you to join us! ACT facilitates and encourages education, communication and collaboration across all levels of government. In 1989, ACT created the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) to foster improved communications and understanding between government and industry. Today, ACT reaches as many as 50,000 government IT professionals and has over 450 member IT companies in its Industry Advisory Council. IAC works through several Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) and Working Groups (WGs). IAC Human Capital SIG Background: The mission of the Human Capital SIG is to bring industry and government executives together to exchange information, support professional development, improve communications and understanding, solve issues and build partnership and trust, thereby enhancing government's ability to serve the nation's citizenry. 2 Agenda 1)Welcome and Introductions Debbie Brown, HC SIG Programs Chair 2) Panel Discussion – Improving Employee Engagement With Brand Promise Session Description This month’s panel features leading commercial, non-profit and government organizations sharing their Brand Promise best practices. Discussion topics will include: - Fulfilling the “Brand Promise” of an organization: How might we clarify expectations and ensure that employees get to do what they thought they were signing up to do? - What role does HR expertise play in improving job opportunity announcements and assessments/realistic job previews for “fit” as well as organizational development expertise to redesign reporting/management structures.
