4  The plan calls for a 26-bed facility, including space for 12 in the holding area, eight men on work release and four females on work release.  The current jail capacity is 18, and last year the facility averaged 16 detainees each day.  "In this past year, we've put out many prisoners, making arrangements with other area counties. We would have spent over $30,000 if we would have been charged, but we've been doing some trading. Credit that to working with other sheriffs. I think we actually spent only $7,000 this year. 5  Plans were released to contractors on February 13…  A pre-bid meeting was conducted on February 28…  A bid letting followed on March 13…  If all goes as planned, the county anticipates awarding the bid sometime during the week of March 20.

6  "We're looking at a probable April start date,” said Hanson, construction manager with Midwest Construction Consultants. "We're looking at an 11-month schedule, so probably next March (2013) for completion."  Hanson said the April start date will help reduce the risk of excess rainwater impacting the dirt work.  Here is an overview of the project by date…

8  September 23 Exterior Enclosure  September 30 - Painting

9  February 10 – Floor Finishes  April 7 – Owner Occupancy
