When taking medicine, what is a good choice? A bad choice? For each scenario, indicate if the person made a: OR Good Choice Bad Choice

4 Bad Choice. Always follow the instructions given to you by a trusted adult.

5 Good Choice or Bad Choice?
John discovers an object that may be medicine or candy. He decides to immediately give it to an adult.

6 Good Choice. If you’re not sure whether you’re dealing with candy or medicine, don’t consume it! Give it to an adult, and he or she will properly dispose of it. Good Choice

Jack decides to share his medicine with Susie.

8 Bad Choice. Everybody is different
Bad Choice. Everybody is different. You should never share your medicine or take somebody else’s medicine. Bad Choice

Julie is six years old and feels sick. She decides to take her medicine all by herself.

10 Bad Choice. You should never take medicine by yourself; only take medicine if given to you by a trusted adult. Bad Choice

Kevin tells his parents that medicine should be stored in a secure cabinet in your home.

12 Good Choice. You should ask your parents to store medicine in a locked cabinet in your home to keep it safe. Good Choice

Jonathan isn’t sure if this is medicine or candy. He decides to eat it anyways.

14 Bad Choice. Medicine and candy can look very similar
Bad Choice. Medicine and candy can look very similar. Ask an adult for help to make sure you know the item is candy before eating it. Bad Choice

Your friend Emily is sick. You tell her that you will NOT share your medicine with her.

Good Choice. Everyone is different. You should never share your medicine or take someone else’s medication. Good Choice

18 Bad Choice. You should ask your parents to store medicine in a locked cabinet in your home to keep it safe. Storing medicine in a place easily reached by children is not a safe place. Bad Choice

Kathy feels sick. She decides to ask a trusted adult for help instead of taking medicine by herself.
