STANDARD: 9.9.1 : Describe the structure of a joint and the types of joints in the human skeleton.

Skeleton function think of three functions of the skeleton ? 1-moving the body with the help of muscles. 2- supporting the body and giving it shape. 3 – protecting soft parts of the body

Skeleton structure the major parts of skeleton are :  Skull  backbone  ribs,  pelvis  arm bones  leg bones

tendons attach muscles to bones how do you think the different bones of the skeleton are joined together? bones joined together by ligaments A joint is a place where two or more bones meet

 synovial joint consists of : 1- cartilage 2- synovial fluid 2- synovial fluid 3- synovial membrane 3- synovial membrane 4 – ligament Structure of joint

JOINTS There are 3 types of joint. 1. Freely moveable 2. Fixed (immoveable) 3. Slightly moveable.

Types of joint 1 - ball- and -socket ( hip – shoulder) ( hip – shoulder) 2- hinge :( elbow–knee) 3- pivot : ( neck ) 4- gliding :( backbone) where each type of joint is found on a human skeleton? where each type of joint is found on a human skeleton?
