2 An adverb is a word used to modify a verb, adjective, or another adverb. An adverb answers the question where, when, how, or to what extent. Adverbs: Where: there, here, downstairs When: yesterday, soon, daily How: slowly, happily, well To what extent: almost, nearly, somewhat

3 An adverb is a word used to modify a verb, adjective, or another adverb. Many adverbs fit these sentences: She thinks ______. – She thinks quickly. She thinks ______ fast. – She thinks unusually fast. She ______ thinks fast. – She seldom thinks fast.
