Douglas County Promotion Criteria (Student/Parent Handbook pg. 6) A student may be considered for retention if: Absences total 15 days or more Final grades include failures in any two or more of the core academic areas of reading, language arts, science, social studies, math or foreign language Performance indicates that additional remediation is needed in two or more core academic areas (A combination of any of the above may show greater need for retention than when only one indicator is present.)

14. Foreign Language Foreign Language students take either French or Spanish in place of Reading class. Other students may take Foreign Language classes beginning in 9 th grade. French and Spanish students MUST meet the READING standard of 25 books each year.

21. Social Studies Resources Quizzes and tests are given on Wednesdays! Ms. Watson has tutoring on Tuesdays 4-5 pm. Ms. Gilreath has tutoring on Wednesdays at 7:30 am and 4-5 pm. Your child should tell us ahead of time if they are coming. The Social Studies CRCT includes four areas: 1. History3. Government 2. Geography4. Economics Our websites are updated regularly and have many different study materials. Please use it as much as possible!
