5 Testing SERVITE HIGH SCHOOL *PSAT – Class of 2017 will take a 2 nd PSAT in the fall of their Junior year. This test will be the “new” reformatted test *SAT/ACT – take at least one before the end of Junior year *Subject tests – (not all colleges require) take in the month of June or “after” course has been completed, OR after the highest level in that particular subject area. Is completed. Register through College Board. Subject tests offered: Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, World History, French, Spanish, German, Modern Hebrew, Latin & Italian *AP Exams – exams are taken in May at Servite. AP fees are due Friday, March 13 th to the Counseling office **The majority of students take their first SAT or ACT junior year

6 Prepping for SAT/ACT SERVITE HIGH SCHOOL *Summer 2015 is a great time to prep *Prep classes *Online programs *Software programs, prep book, or tutor *College Board website *Talk to other parents for referrals *Refer to “Test Prep References” handout

7 When to take SAT, ACT & Subject tests SERVITE HIGH SCHOOL *SAT-www.collegeboard.com *ACT-www.actstudent.org *Prep summer 2015-test Junior year Oct or Nov 2015 *Prep fall 2015-test Junior year Jan or Feb 2016 *Subject tests-test after you’ve completed the class, OR after the highest level in subject (e.g. after AP Biology; not HP Biology) *CSU’s do not require subject tests *UC’s may require subject tests for certain majors *Private/out of state - vary
