6 Classroom Management In my classroom, we earn marbles as our classroom management system. Each day, the children are rewarded with a certain amount of marbles for good behavior as a group. They earn marbles for working hard, listening carefully, walking nicely in the halls, etc. When we fill up our marble jar to the halfway mark, students will earn a treat. When we fill the marble jar completely up, we will have a bigger party! Students may also earn treats throughout the day from the treat jars for completing an assignment nicely, working hard, etc. Hoot Hoot Hooray Slips: You will see these slips coming home occasionally with your kiddos. They can earn a slip by showing outstanding behavior or hard work. When your child receives this slip, he/she has earned a green for the day!

13 Homework  Your kiddo will have math homework each day. Along with the homework I send home a “Reteach” page. This goes over our lesson and can be extra practice for your child if he/she would like to do so. Each day students will also bring home the math pages they worked on in class. I tell them that this is a great resource to look back at if they are stuck while doing their homework.  When we begin Readers Club, students will be bringing home the book they read in class with a slip. The slip indicated what their reading assignments are. Please sign the slip and send it back to school with your kiddo so I know he/she read!  There will be no homework on Fridays! However, I suggest that you check out the Lead 21 website for some great books on your kiddo’s reading level and/or sing a few songs from your kiddo’s rhythm and rhyme folder!  Thank you for your support with this!!

14 Other Info:  Each Friday students will be getting a Weekly Newsletter. This is an overview of what we have learned that week and also upcoming events or assessments. I also put this up on my website each week so you may check there as well!  Each Friday students will also be getting a Friday Folder. This is a folder that will contain corrected homework and other work that I have checked over the week. Please review the corrected homework with your kiddo as needed. Please remove the papers from the folder each week and send the folder back to school on Monday. Thanks

15 Thank You! Thank you for all of your help and support! Please feel free to contact me anytime you have any questions or concerns.  Email: lewist@parklandsd.orglewist@parklandsd.org  Phone: 610-351-5900 (ext: 21116)
