2 Proposed changes to External Moderation Teachers will be able to post student evidence online, with grade and comment, as they are completed. Once Moderator confirms grade, can seek further clarification and have private discussion thread. 2017? New PLD tool by 2017 to help teachers make better judgements in internals. Examples of student work online – practise assessing them, compare with others and moderator. In time, same thing for students as well.

10 Hints from the Moderator...  If work going back to student for resub, no comments on it  Write up oral resub, add to written work  To reduce workload try to combine standards eg.CGI with research  Level 1: teachers are expecting too much, Level 3: work is not in sufficient depth

11 Internals: is the topic geographic?? Can you answer: What’s where? Why is it there? Why it matters?

12 Global Studies : give them the map(s)! Make sure the pattern is clear Sometimes the ‘tried and true’ topics allow students to give the best answers If using Resource Booklets, make sure material is relevant. Critique all assessments and exemplars – may not always be good practice (even TKI!)
