4. Topics What is an AUP? The Acceptable Use Policy(AUP) is a description of school ’ s instructional philosophies regarding Internet access in the school system. It is a set of clear guidelines and code of conduct regarding behavior while using the Internet including the responsibilities of students, parents, and teachers. The AUP is designed to promote student safety and privacy while on the Web.

5. Topics Signatures and Permission It is important for a parent or guardian to be aware of the extent of their child ’ s access to the Internet while at school. A parent signature indicates permission for their child to use the Internet under the guidelines set by the school system. A student who signs the AUP accepts the responsibility of appropriate use.
