4 Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)  AUP is a written agreement in the form of guidelines, signed by students, their parents and their teachers, outlining the terms and conditions of technology-use.  All employees must sign an AUP. ( They are held to a high standard of  technology usage and implementation)  Educational Purposes Only  Unacceptable usages of Network  Inappropriate or illegal materials

Niehoff -- O Student Blogging, The School House, and Free Speech Collide According to forbes.com, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit held that public school (i.e., government) officials did not violate a student’s First Amendment rights by preventing her from running for senior class secretary in response to a blog entry highly critical of those officials that she posted from home during non-school hours.

14 Facebook and Twitter warning to teachers who befriend pupils O One in 10 misconduct cases from schools involved teachers using social networking sites like Facebook to start inappropriate relationships with their pupils, it was reported. O Karl Hopwood, an internet safety consultant and former head, said: "My advice to schools is to always have a very clear and robust 'acceptable use' policy which is a living breathing document, not some 25-page tome on the staffroom shelf gathering dust. I think that they also have to have very clear distinctions between public and private."

Allow students to bring their cell phones to school and allows them to use them during non-instructional times such as time in between classes and lunch O 3. Possess and use their cell phones in class as learning tools

16 Student Suspended for Taking Pictures of Substitute Teacher Sleeping O MUSTANG, Okla. (AP) - Mustang school district officials say a Mustang Mid-High School, 9 th grade, student snapped a picture of what appears to be a man with his eyes closed behind a school desk last week. O School officials say cell phones are allowed on school grounds, but can't be used during class.
