10 Facilitation in Nursing Programs Clinical Post Conference – Workshop question: How can we effectively deal with emotionally challenging clients? – Rationale aim: List methods to positively deal with emotionally challenging clients – Experiential aim: Discover personal feelings about emotionally challenging clients

11 Facilitation in Nursing Programs Student Success Course Workshop question: How can I become proactive? Rational aim: Student will identify reactive and proactive thought processes. Experiential aim: Student will become more self-aware of own degree of proactivity

12 Facilitation in Nursing Programs Nursing Math Course Workshop question: How can I be successful with dosage calculations? Rational aim: To explore methods of improving dosage competency skills. Experiential aim: For students to become comfortable with dosage calculation.

16 Facilitation: How? Steps: Establish rules Focused conversation Give each participant 3-5 cards Allow 5-10 minutes for participants to write “answers”

17 Facilitation: How? Pass up the idea most liked and place randomly on board Pair up the ideas Pass up cards with different ideas Cluster ideas into groups Give the clusters a 3-5 word name or title that answers the workshop question
