 Will be assigned Monday – Thursday and should take no more than 30 minutes.  Students will be expected to turn in their homework the following morning.  All homework will be recorded into the daily planner – this is a wonderful tool for communication! Please check it daily!  By initialing the behavior calendar, you are acknowledging that you viewed the planner page where homework is written down. Weekly Folder Every [day of the week], your child will bring home his/her Weekly folder. The folder will contain any graded papers, missed work, notices, and any other information to be communicated.  All papers should be emptied except any missed work to be turned in to the teacher. The Wednesday folder paper must be signed each week and returned in the same folder on Thursday. This will count as a homework assignment.

Please initial each night. When you initial, this tells the teacher: You viewed your child’s homework on the planner page You viewed the calendar and noted their homework completion Daily behavior will be indicated by a color or stamp on the calendar and explanations may be found on the planner page if teacher needs more space

 If your child is absent from school, they must have a note from a parent/guardian upon return to school (may email or note in agenda).  All missed assignments will be given to students when they return to school.  Students will be expected to complete this work within 3-4 days. Work that is not turned in will become a zero in the grade book.

 Our classroom behavior plan is aligned with the school behavior plan. There are 5 levels of consequences for inappropriate behavior.  Level 1 – Warning  Level 2 – Time-out, time to reflect  Level 3 – Written reflection;  sent home to be signed and returned  Level 4 – Parent Contact by phone  Level 5 – Office Referral  Please check the daily planner/behavior calendar each day as this will communicate to you your child’s behavior on a daily basis.  Part of each student’s nightly homework will be to have their planner signed.  A quarterly reward party is scheduled to honor students who earned a pre- determined amount of PBIS tickets. They will need to show the Code of Conduct to earn these tickets (Respectful, Responsible, and Safe).

 The daily planner is a wonderful way to communicate.  The weekly tool is the Weekly Folder which will have graded work, homework, and community/school announcements!  We can also be contacted by phone: 410 – 887-1330  Email is the best way to reach us, as we check our messages daily. [Teacher 1] [email address] [Teacher 2] [email address]  Feel free to visit any time! Make sure you set up an appointment in the office first.

 BCPSONE can be accessed to view your child’s graded work.  Interims will be sent home mid- quarter for each of the 4 quarters (BCPS policy).

 Over the course of a school year supplies can be lost, torn, or depleted. Please check with your child on a regular basis to make sure that he/she has the necessary supplies to be successful.  Having the necessary supplies helps your child succeed!

We look forward to an awesome school year with you and your child!
