9 Know Yourself Utilize bacc core classes outside your major – take things because they are interesting to you, not because they sound easy.

10 Utilize Advisors When in doubt, visit your advisor. They help hundreds of students every year figure out what they’re doing to do next.

11 Get Involved Work or volunteer in a field you’re majoring in or do something to gain transferrable skills such as leadership.

12 Resume The most important document you can ever create is a well developed resume. Many resources on campus can help you.

13 Explore Traveling abroad is a great way to widen your horizon and is an opportunity that is easily possible during your college experience.

14 Campus Life There are unlimited clubs and possibilities here on campus. OSU even has a club that build concrete canoes! Check them out!

15 Not sure what you want to do? DON’T PANIC Take some classes in a few different majors – who knows, you might bump into something you love. Meet with a Career Counselor. Use your social circles! Job Shadow friends, your parents’ friends, or your friends’ parents!

16 GAINING EXPERIENCE Volunteering – do something you enjoy or find something within your desired field. Work a part time job – do research for a professor in your major. Do something that develops transferrable skills – leadership, communication, etc. There are many paid and unpaid internships out there. Apply early; apply often.
