2 ‘Life in Tudor Times’ Aims: To give children a deeper insight into the lives of those in Tudor times. Promote and develop independence Learn to care for themselves Opportunities for risk taking (carefully!)

3 Staffing Mrs Frommholz (Group Leader) Mr Witchell Miss Kraus Mrs Mitchell Mrs Suddaby Mrs Kimber Mrs Edwards 55 children are going on the trip.

4 Accommodation Split into 2 blocks, both containing; - cloakroom - children's dormitories - en suite toilets and showers - staff rooms

7 The outside area Set in large grounds of the Manor House Large open spaces – children will be supervised at all times

8 Itinerary 7.45Children to arrive at school. Please bring your children to the hall using the side door. Parents to say goodbye to children when they have registered with Mr Witchell, handed medicine to Miss Kraus and given spending money to Mrs Frommholz. 8.15Leave school Stop on way – toilets, drink and snack 12.00Arrive at centre, eat packed lunch, unpack, make beds 13.30 – 14.45 14.45 – 16.00 Whole group activity: Investigation of the Manor Tudor school room – Weaving, pomanders and candle making 16.00Free time – play outside if weather good Time in rooms if weather bad 17.30Dinner 18.30Evening Activity – Murder at Hooke Court (murder mystery activity) 20.00Get ready for bed and story 20.30Bedtime 21.00Lights out

Time in rooms if weather bad 17.30Dinner – Christmas Tudor Banquet 18.30Evening Activity – Mummers Play 20.00Get ready for bed and story 20.30Bedtime 21.00Lights out

11 Food Packed Lunch for first day – children to bring this with them, as well as a drink and snack for when we stop on the way.

12 Kit List Please see the detailed list in your information pack. Children need to be prepared for November/December weather. Many activities inside but some will be outside and there will obviously be opportunity for free time outside if weather is reasonable. Children can bring up to £5 pocket money in a labelled purse. Please hand this in to Mrs Frommholz on the Wednesday check-in. PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING! YOU MAY NOT GET IT BACK OTHERWISE!

13 What not to bring Electronic games Mobile phones Expensive cameras.

14 Letters If you would like to, it is a lovely idea to write a letter for the first night of our trip. Hand a letter from yourselves to us at check in on Wednesday. You will also be given emergency contact information nearer the time.

15 Medical Staff at Hooke Court are First Aid trained. The night duty manager is also a first aider. Please ensure that the medical forms have all been returned. Please hand medicines to Miss Kraus at check in.
