Feasibility Study Report Silk Bottom End Cap In Cover Integrated Antenna Based on 3D files received on 2010-09-29 SILK End caps 0.004 Version: 006

2 Part Name: Bottom End Cap Part 3D Version: 2010-08-13 Material: First ShotPC Xantar LDS 3730 or PC/ABS Xantar LDS 3711 Second ShotPC/ABS Weight / Vol. First shot0,97g / 971 mm 3 Second shot1,77g / 1774 mm 3 Total2,74 g / 2745 mm 3 Secondary Operations:LDS, Plating, Painting Main Technologies:In Cover Integrated Antenna (over moulding, LDS) General Part Information Major Risks Identified 1.Risk for compressed surface in pattern area after second shot. Suggest to avoid ribs behind plating. If necessary, make rib thinner, max 0,7 towards surface. Change angle to 0,5 degree to save material. Thick rib, big risk for compression damage on plating

3 Major Risks Identified 1.Thin core. Add material 2.Thin core corner, add blend 3.Risk for delamination in center. Add locking features. Add materialThin core Risk for delamination Add locking features Thin corner add blend

4 Major Risks Identified 1.Big risk for crack in plating Tool edge pressing on plating. Suggest to remove tool edge. 2.Risk for crack in via hole. Material must flow throw the via hole to fill rib on backside. Suggest to remove volume over via hole. Tool edge cut the plating Risk to damage plating when fill rib throw via hole.

5 Major Risks Identified 1.Add 0.3 mm gap to pattern 2.Add chamfer and blend for LDS surface. Add 0.3 mm gap Add chamfer and blend on pattern in via hole.

6 Parting Major Risks Identified 1.Release angel needed on the flange. 2.Risk for scratch marks close to parting line due to small release angel < 1 degree. Suggest to polish surface. Small release angel. Risk for scratch marks

7 Major Risks Identified 1.Wash out: If gating is to close to antenna pattern it is a risk for wash out. 2.Gating first shot could be on the top surface away from the plating area. 3.Gating second shot could be a banana gate on the bottom edge. 4.Extra support pin could be needed to keep first shot on place when over moulding Gating first shot Banana gate second shot Extra support needed in gating area
