Copying Information from a Website 1.Move to the beginning of the text you wish to copy and drag over it to select it. 2.Press CTRL-C or Edit/Copy. 3.Move to the destination of the selected text. 4.Press CTRL-V or Edit/Paste. *Note – Refer to Chapter 5 regarding legal and ethical uses of copied materials.

Click File/Save As and entire filename. Allows for access later when an Internet connection may not be available. Great for presentation backups. Read while traveling without connection.

FileZilla (Free FTP software) available for download. Host computer requires password. Some firewalls or gateways block FTP transfer of files.

Security, Privacy, and Ethics Copyright – ownership of intellectual property which includes the right to specify who uses the materials. Fair Use – materials can be used for research, criticism, comment, news reporting, and education. Trademark – word or symbol that identifies ownership. Patent – protection of invention idea. Citing – reference source of materials. TM

Is the information current? Is the reference from an authoritative source? Is there enough detail? Search for other articles by the author and/or comments about the author.

Do not write something about another person or group that is untrue. Do not use the Internet to harass someone. Do not force offensive material on someone else. Respect the right of parents to limit children’s access to adult materials.
