1. Presentation of our visit to the Energy Center of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Vasilia Philippou Carolina Efrem Rea Panagiotou

2. When we visited the Energy Center we had an interview with the director Mr. Kassinis. We talked about the energy issues.

3. Renewable energy resources can not replace petroleum but they can reduce its use. Natural gas can replace petroleum because it is more friendly to the environment than petroleum.

4. In Cyprus we can use solar energy because we have 9 months summer and 3 months winter so we have a lot of sun. The use of ( fotovoltanic/solar) is very good but there are still problems of performance and high cost.

5. Biogas There are also units in Cyprus which use biogas. This is a gas that is used as a fuel. In Cyprus is produced mainly from the wastes of animals. This is another Renewable Energy Resource. Our team will examine in the near future.

6. We can not cover all of our energy needs by using only Renewable Energy Resources. However we should not depend only on petroleum. We should reduce its use by using Renewable Energy Resources.

7. Another energy is the nuclear. It’ s very friendly to the environment but in Cyprus it’ s very difficult to use it. It is used in France
