2 Henry Hudson English explorer and navigator who explored parts of the Arctic Ocean and northeastern North America. Hired by the Dutch East India Company in 1609 to try to find a Northwest Passage across North America.

3 Henry Hudson’s Routes

4 Henry Hudson Discovered what is now known as the Hudson River and sailed up to New York Harbor (New York City) 1610-1611, he sailed through the Hudson Strait into the Hudson Bay.

5 Henry Hudson Hudson believed that he had found the Pacific Ocean when he was in the Hudson Bay. His ship was stuck in the ice for the winter. When the ice thawed, he wanted to continue, but his crew mutinied. They sent him and his son adrift in a boat and they were never heard from again.
