5 Task 1 What are the main aspects you consider to be important to a user guide? – Produce a list of rules which you can follow in the creation of your user guide. Task 2 You now need to think about audiences and how the user guides need to be different for them? – First audience is ‘PC Illiterate’ – Second audience is ‘PC Technical’ You need to create a short user guide for each audience showing them how to Open Power Point, Set Slide Design and Set Slide Transitions Then in your groups write down 5 points that are different for the 2 target audiences and feed back to the class. 12 Task 4 Your boss has noted that many staff are weak at using Microsoft PowerPoint, he has asked you to create a user guide for non technical staff: The maximum number of pages is 2 sides of A4 – in order for the document to be folded into a 4 page A5 booklet. – You could Include – Master Slides – Transitions – Animations – Text/Sounds/Images – Backgrounds – Saving/opening – Inserting slides b) After completing the first draft of the document you should print it and annotate the mistakes which have been made on the document. c) Based on your annotations you should produce the final version of the booklet which contains no mistakes. P6,M2 Have you met both of these criteria? If you have can you provide and assistance to other member of the class? If you have not yet met the criteria can you use the notes from last lesson to help or user peer reviewing to help you?
