4 CHILD’s SKULL Fontanels – areas where the major skull bones have not fused together yet AKA “soft spots” Purpose: so skull can be flexible for birth

8 FORAMEN – hole (for blood vessels) * foramen magnum – hole at bottom of skull, where spinal cord attaches to brain. PROCESS – projection (sticking out)
