1 Transportation Information for SUAS Teams 10/16/2015

2 Transportation from Airports to Lexington Park, Maryland and Patuxent River, Maryland Airports – There are 3 airports (Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, or Dulles International Airport) are all within 2 hours drive of Lexington Park, Maryland and NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. Transportation to/from the airports to the local area is the team’s responsibility. Transportation options: Rental Cars, Taxis, and Shuttle services Rental Cars – Budget, Avis, Hertz and Enterprise are at each airport and have offices in Lexington Park, Maryland. They have car size limitations on renting to people under 25. They will only rent large vehicles to drivers over 25. Taxis – Expensive but available at every airport. Rates differ depending on cab company. Many do not service the Lexington Park, Maryland area. Shuttles – Only one will service the Pax Area from the airports. That is Supreme Airport Shuttle. Their number is 1-800-590-0000. Their website is www.supremeairportshuttle.com. www.supremeairportshuttle.com

3 Transportation in the Area Getting to the events is the responsibility of each team. Teams must ensure that the team budget includes transportation costs if renting vehicles or taking taxis. Bus service does not go to Webster Field, Maryland Taxis - The Chesapeake Cab company at (301) 863-1151 charges $26.00 for two people to travel from Lexington Park to Webster Field. There is an additional fee of $1.00 per person if the group is larger than two people. So the trip for three people is $27.00 one way. Ride Share - A cost saving alternative. Connecting with the other teams that have vehicles has been used successfully in the past by many teams. It is also a great way to build a rapport with students from different areas.
