1 Using Graduated Cylinders

2 Graduated Cylinders:  Units: mL (metrics)  Never measure at supply table  Keep near the center of your work area. Keep the plastic guard (ring) above the numbers.  Have eyes level with liquid read measurement at the bottom of the curve called the meniscus.

3 Never mix chemicals in the graduated cylinder. Use test tubes or beakers for this. Immediately rinse them out when finished measuring. Use brushes to clean with. Wash before and after measuring. Remember the following readings for the different sizes: each line on a 10mL graduated cylinder equals 0.2mL. each line on a 25mL graduated cylinder equals 0.5mL. each line on a 100mL graduated cylinder equals 1mL
