5. Educator Effectiveness PURPOSE—You know what the System is and how to do it. Now, for 2015-16, focus on the why/purpose of the System and how to implement it better, as well as how to use it to support good teaching and learning locally. Remember, it is ALL about growth. Reflect, take risks, etc.

6. There was a shift in the System Measures/Weights to better align to the purpose. SLOs now comprise 100% of the outcome portion of the System…the other measures still exist, but not as measures which are scored—instead, they are provided to educators as data/information/evidence to support the design/development of the SLO as historical trend data.

10. Equivalency Graduation Credit DPI is committed to expanding opportunities for students to meet graduation requirements. In the Summer of 2007, Wisconsin released information about establishing local science equivalency credit to agriculture education courses. –H–High School Graduation –M–Meets UW Admission Requirement

UW-Madison Animal Science 101 -Students have the option of taking an An Sci 101 placement exam on the UW Campus in late May if they are accepted and will enroll at UW-Madison in fall of that year. -Students will need to pay the standard placement exam fee The exam will consist of both multiple choice questions and essay questions. Students will need to meet or exceed a minimum score on the multiple choice exam in order to have their responses to the essay questions considered. Students need to pass both exams to receive placement credit for An Sci 101

UW-Madison Animal Science 101 -If a student passes both exams, they will receive 4 credits for An Sci 101 and will be able to take higher level An Sci or Dairy Sci courses at UW during their freshman year, for which they can register during SOAR in summer (they can register for higher level courses once their scores have been reported; students in earlier sessions of SOAR may not have the scores yet when they register). - The placement test is based on the high school large animal veterinary science curriculum written with reviews from the faculty at UW and is posted at wuhsag.weebly.com (I'll be updating a couple of the units in the curriculum later this fall but it is mostly up to date and ready to go; we can post all of this in a more neutral location as well if we have one in mind).
