3 1. Get out a piece of notebook paper & at the top of the page write “Question of the Day” & your name. 2. Write the day of the week & date (Wednesday, August 21 st ) 3. Copy the following “Question of the Day" onto your paper (under the date), INCLUDING THE NUMBER

8 Why is this the BEST answer? New personnel regulations. (personnel are EMPLOYEES) Most businesses prepare a variety of internal reports that are intended to inform employees about changes in policies and procedures. These internal reports often explain new personnel regulations. If employees analyze the reports, they will be able to understand and comply with the new personnel policies and procedures. Businesses do not share customer profiles with all employees. Internal business reports concerning policies and procedures usually do not explain industry research data or list former local competitors. (INTERNAL vs. EXTERNAL information)

9 NAME GAME What is the value of knowing someone’s name? How do you feel when someone does not remember your name? What about when someone does??

15 While I’m mentioning a TEST 1 st TEST is MONDAY, Aug. 24 th TAKE NOTES! (“orientation review worksheet” WRITE “TEST” in your AGENDA BOOK!

Pencil Pouch – **DO NOT ASK FOR HILITERS/PENS/PENCILS!* 5. 2 Black or blue ink pens 6. 2 Pencils or mechanical pencils – both with erasers 7. 2 highlighters (not magic markers) of different colors – you may select any colors

27 NOTEBOOKS/SUPPLIES MUST have ALL of these in class EVERY DAY! #1 – Agenda Book or Calendar #2 – HOMEWORK FOLDER - Due Monday, 8/20 #3 – COMPLETED NOTEBOOK - Due Monday, 8/20 #4 – Index Cards (250) – will be kept in the classroom for vocabulary assignments. Due Monday, 8/20

Don’t go digging through things you have no business looking at or helping yourself to. #7. BRING YOUR NOTEBOOK & SUPPLIES TO CLASS EVERY SINGLE DAY!! This will also include your semester reading book (more on this later….).

34 COLLEGE LEVEL COURSE It is important for all students to understand that this is a COLLEGE LEVEL course. Therefore, the curriculum is rigorous. Students can earn college credit by taking this course AND taking Marketing Management. To qualify for college credit students must pass the course with an A or B AND pass the final exam with a 93% or higher.

35 What does it take to succeed in this course? Do all assignments TURN in assignments Put forth your best effort Get along with & support fellow students Be a positive influence in this class Have fun Follow the rules
