1. Comm Arts-Day 2 Bell Ringer: Last night you read the Ebola article and used your reading strategies to tackle the text! Take two minutes with your group and try to answer each other’s questions, share connections, or any reactions. Remember to focus on the article and not just the virus. We will discuss as a class after the two minutes.

3. Reactions to Ebola! Type 1- 5 minutes, 7 lines After reading the Ebola article last night in addition to any background information you may have, do you think we have any reason to fear the spread of Ebola in the United States? How might this situation present an opportunity for everyday heroes? Use information from your homework (the article) to support your claim/ opinion. (Post to Edmodo.)

4. Practice with Claims and Facts! (10 mins) Go back to the article and re-read the Ebola article. Make a copy and share it with your teacher(s)! Then, highlight (yellow) at least three facts that support the claim below. Claim: United States health officials are taking precautions to prevent the spread of Ebola.

5. Exit Ticket Please take the complete sentences practice given to you and correct the incomplete sentence, connect the dependent clause, fix the run-ons, and/or fragments. When you are done, turn it in to the bottom white bin. If you are finished early, you may read on your own.
