1 Comm Arts-Day 2! O Bell Ringer: No computers today. Please turn your homework into the bin. Bell Ringer: Who is your favorite character from “The Hero’s Test”? Why? What is their role in the conflict of the story? Defend with EVIDENCE FROM THE TEXT. (3 minutes to complete)

2 Book Fair! We are going to the book fair for part of class today. Please walk one behind the other silently with the class as there will be other classes learning. When you are in the book fair please use your inside voice and walk. When I say in the book fair that means everyone line back up—it’s time to go.

4 Characterization and the story O How would the story be different if Theseus was not courageous or brave? (2 minutes) O How do we know Theseus is brave? Where does it say so in the text. (2 minutes)

On page 28 it says “King Minos keeps [the Minotaur] underground in a labyrinth…where he is fed yearly on our Greek sons and daughters…Minos is powerful enough to destroy Athens in a day if we refuse hum his tribute.” This shows that King Minos is cruel because he forces the Minotaur to stay underground and other cities to sacrifice their children.
