SOLAR SYSTEM by Taylor Marriott
The solar system has 8 planets in the solar system. The solar system includes the sun and all objects that orbit around it to its gravity.

SUN The sun is a star found at the center of the solar system. It makes up around 99.86% of the solar systems mass.

Mercury Mercury is a small planet which orbits closer to the sun then any other planet in our solar system. As well as being very hot, it features a barren , crater covered surface which looks similar to earths moon.

Venus Well, perhaps you could consider it the earth evil twin. Earth and Venus have very similar size and mass, and they orbit THE SUN close to the sun in very similar orbits.

Earth 70 percent of the earth’s surface is covered in water. Planet earth rotates around the sun at approximately 1,000 miles per hour.

MARS Mars, or the red planet as it is sometimes known , has a dusty rocky surface and a thin atmosphere. These highly advanced robots gather samples and record important scientific data for scientists back on Earth to study

Asteroid Belt Asteroids and planets share a common birth. The process that helped form the planets is called accretion.

JUPITER Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system . Jupiter has a very strong magnetic field , you would weigh two and a half time as much as you would on Earth.

Saturn Saturn’s atmosphere above clouds is approximately 94 percent hydrogen and 6 percent helium. Second largest planet in the solar system, after Jupiter.

Uranus Uranus likes to be a bit different. Uranus spins lying on it’s side like a barrel, this is perhaps due to a large collision.

Neptune Neptune is a large planet, nearly four times the size has Earth. Neptune suffers the most violent weather in are solar system.

Pluto Pluto is a Dwarf planet. Pluto has two moons.

Comets Comets are made out of rock and dust. Many comets land on Earth’s atmosphere.
