Package Types Packaging may be looked at as several different types. For example a transport package or distribution package is the package form used to ship, store, and handle the product or inner packages.

To ship and Distribute

To Store

From warehouse to store

For sale

Some identify a consumer package as one which is directed toward a consumer or household.

Various household packaging types for foods

Save Storage Space: Square Watermelons

It is sometimes convenient to categorize packages by layer or function: "primary", "secondary", & “Tertiary”.

Primary packaging >> the material that 1st envelops the product and holds it. >> the smallest unit of distribution or use and is the package which is in direct contact with the contents.

Secondary packaging is outside the primary packaging – perhaps used to group primary packages together.

Tertiary (Ta-Shi-nary) packaging is used for bulk handling, warehouse storage and transport shipping.bulk handlingwarehouse transport

Packaging Exercise 1 Today, we are going to create a form of simple 3D object – “Pyramids” A Pyramid blue print has been provided. (Download from jexpression) Each student will then design a realistic “brick” pattern on the blue-print in Illustrator and print out. Cut out and glue the Pyramid into a real 3D object Print student full name at the bottom of the Pyramid in order to earn credit
