Packaging is the science, art and technology of enclosing or protecting products for distribution, storage, sale, and use.

Packaging Packaging also refers to the process of design, evaluation, and production of packages.

Package Types Packaging may be looked at as several different types. For example a transport package or distribution package is the package form used to ship, store, and handle the product or inner packages.

It is sometimes convenient to categorize packages by layer or function: "primary", "secondary", & “Tertiary”.

Primary packaging >> the material that 1st envelops the product and holds it. >> the smallest unit of distribution or use and is the package which is in direct contact with the contents.

Secondary packaging is outside the primary packaging – perhaps used to group primary packages together.

Packaging Exercise 1 Today, we are going to create a form of simple 3D object – “Pyramids” A Pyramid blue print has been provided. (Download from jexpression) Each student will then design a realistic “brick” pattern on the blue-print in Illustrator and print out. Cut out and glue the Pyramid into a real 3D object Print student full name at the bottom of the Pyramid in order to earn credit
