1 WELCOME ASL 1! DOORBUSTER: Today: Success & Goal Grid for the Fingerspelling & Procedures tests; grades info.; sub. Info; Ticket Out Please create a “Success & Goal” Grid in your Composition book. You may create this at the end of your book, in the middle, or near your Doorbusters- just be sure to mark it so you can easily return to it each time we have tests returned. This grid is used for you to record test grades and give yourself feedback. You will add as many tests as you can fit on this sheet, and then start a new one when it is filled. YOU DO NOT NEED TO WRITE! * HAVE YOUR COLOR CRAYON READY *BE SEATED AT THE BELL, WITH IPAD TEAM *GET YOUR CHECK-LIST SHEET FROM DR. WEAST (YOU GAVE IT TO ME YESTERDAY) *SIT AND WAIT FOR A BRIEF VIDEO BEFORE YOU BEGIN… Today: 1. brief video; 2. iPad lab 3. Ticket Out- grades are on Skyward

4 ASL 2--“MOONWALKING BEAR”- WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? DO NOT MISS THE POINT— YES, YOU RECEIVE ASL CREDIT BUT ALSO: ASL ENVIRONMENT: SHOULD BE UNCOMFORTABLE SOME---IT WILL PROVIDE THE METHOD TO: *BEST LEARN ASL *CREATE A GENERAL IMPROVED ABILITY TO LEARN *ACTIVATE PATHWAYS IN RT. HEMISPHERE NOT TYPICALLY USED IN SPOKEN ENGLISH- YOUR BRAIN IS A MUSCLE! USE IT AND BUILD IT UP!

5 ASL 2 iPad lab- review ASL 1 in centers:  *Remember: shhh!!! If you help a friend be quiet, they do NOT receive a check (up to 3 helps/peer- checks)  *check off each station as you complete them (on the sheets you did yesterday), and turn in the colored charts from each station before you move on to the next station  *Finished? I have extra iPads for your team to do other signing until all are done- see me (shhh)

8 ASL 3 Deaf Awareness Week Sign-ups:  Posters  “Deaf for a day” (I will give you a form- pick a day)  Video- design it, and/or sign in it  Plan a party- Deaf Awareness Social (invite Deaf/HH students to join us)  Brochure, flier, or handout (we can get volunteers to pass them out)  Silent Dinner?  Other categories you want to add?
