5 James Meredith A veteran and war hero Enrolled at the Universtiy of Miss. Governor Barnett blocked the doorway Kennedy sent 400 Federal Marshalls Cost the U.S> taxpayers $400,000 to get that guy 4 years of college

7 Governor George Wallace…Alabama Blocked the door to the University of Alabama to Black Students who had enrolled The same day, Medgar Evers, an NAACP leader who had organized a bus Boycott in Jackson, Miss was gunned down in from of his home

8 Kennedy addressed the nation Said he intended to introduce a Civil Rights bill to Congress ML King organized a march on Washington in Support

14 LBJ Sent Navy Seals to dreg lakes, ponds, rivers to find the kids. Found them. The Black kid had been tortured Voting Rights Act of 1965: Federal Marshalls would register Black voters

15 1965 Malcolm X Assassinated By the Nation of Islam? Apostasy.

16 Amendment 24 Eliminated the Poll Tax Eventually The Cvil Rights Act of 1968 Aka The Fair Housing Act LBJ believed the Civil Rights movement was the moral issue of the day.
