The most beautiful golden form of the rain tree is called the Golden Rain Tree. Origins: Neotropics, Mexico south, Peru, Brazil, South, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, including Hawaii. Family: Mimosaceae, Leguminosae This tree is a commonly found roadside tree. Its leaves are 2 - 4 pinnate with more or less elliptical 2 - 8 leaflets. Leaves are 24 - 40 cm long, evergreen, fernlike, light green, dainty, shiny on the upper surface and hairy underneath. Leaflets are spread out when it is sunny and during the day.
