13. The first people who settled in the area were refugees from Caucasus and Pontus in 1922. The place was named after a castle that existed in Chats, Pontus, a historical Greek designation for a region on the southern coast of the Black Sea

14. OUR SCHOOL 3rd primary school of Oreokastro. In our school there are 330 pupils and about 30 teachers

15. The school is situated in the suburbs of Thessaloniki, about 15km. away from the city.

16. Students are actively involved in projects promoting sensitivity on environmental problems, and a variety of e-twinning projects as well as currently working on a Comenius project
