2 Present Participle Sometimes the main verb in the sentence.
It is used with: is, was, or another form of the verb BE. Example: LeRoy is visiting England.

3 Past Participle Sometimes the main verb in the sentence.
It is used with the helping verbs has, had, or have. Example: He has visited London.

4 Forming participles To form the past tense and the past participle do follow the rules listed below: Add “d” or “ed” Walk= walked When a regular verb ends with a consonant PRECEDED by “Y”, change the “Y” to “I” before adding “ED”. Try=tried When a one-syllable verb ends with a consonant PRECEDED by a vowel, double the consonant BEFORE adding “ED”. Drop= dropped
