3. World Diabetes Day is today. If you forgot to wear blue, draw a blue dot on your finger (with something washable) to show support! What is diabetes? Type 1 diabetes is diagnosed when the pancreas stops making insulin. It is an autoimmune disease which means your own body attacks the pancreas, destroying the cells that make insulin. This means the body cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood. If you don’t know where the pancreas is found, ask your teacher if you can do some research! Stop by our information booth in the amphitheatre at both nutrition breaks to ask us any questions! See you there.

4. Attention students in Grades 1, 2 and 3. Do you like to sing??? Well the primary choir is ready to begin!!!!!. If you are interested in joining the choir, there will be a brief meeting in Mme Reynolds’ room at the beginning of 1st nutrition break today.
