2 Do you know where The Tropical Rainforest is located?
Equator is An imaginary line that goes around the middle of the earth This Unit is about Tropical Rainforest Animals but first lets find out where the tropical rainforest is located. The tropical rainforests are located near the equator. Below are some countries where they are found…. Central America The Amazon Australia Southern Asia Africa

3 Tropical Rainforest Ecosystem and Climate?
Emegents – houses birds in tops of the tallest trees Canopy – houses insects and birds in its thick leafy branches Understory – located under the leaves and houses most of the shrubs, insects, mammals and reptiles Forest Floor-Most of the wildlife and larger animals live here Rain, Rain, Rain, It rains almost everyday in the rainforest The average temperature is 75 to 80 degrees

The tropical rainforest provides 20% of the world’s oxygen….. and 50% of the world’s animals Many of its plants are used in medicines Breathe easy Annato plant lowers blood pressure, treats snake bites Cocoa Tree gives us chocolate The rainforest is known as the lungs of the world

Jaguar Macaw Gorilla Woolly Monkey 50 million species of butterflies Red eye tree frog These animals ALL have something in common They need : Air, Water, shelter and Food to survive They: Reproduce

7 The disappearing tropical rainforest and the Red Eye Tree Frog
Despite its wealth, the topical rainforest is disappearing mainly because of: Farming – cutting down trees to grow tropical fruits for export Ranching – land is burned to grow grass for cattle Logging – trees are cut down for its timber and.. YOU Everyday we use products made from the rainforest When the rainforest disappears…so does its animals.

Habitat means home. Its Habitat is.. Amazon rainforest of South America and Central America They are Nocturnal rainforest animals Found on the underside of leaves near shallow water The Red Eye Tree Frog is not endangered but was chosen because of its striking characteristics to represent those animals that are.
