1. Personal Life in Relation with GOD Objective : Help in attaining the divine through constant communion with God. Strengthening the relationship with God through different kinds of spiritual rites and exercises.

2. The need for a constant and steady relationship with God Like air, water and food. He is the Eternal source of life. Just like soil is to trees, water to fish and oxygen to humans. There is the need for steady communion with God for life to be cherished in plentifulness. The body,mind and soul are part of the human system created by God. God must have created the human soul with the immense possibility for the relationship and communion with God.

3. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God” Psalms 42:1,2 We get joy and contentment from our relationship with God. The evil desires and passions are wiped out. The seeds of goodness bear fruit. We stand with determination in the crisis of life.

4. God who establishes relationships with His creations and comes near to us God is eager to grow and develop relationship with His creation and so comes near. Incarnation of Christ makes it evident. God wants a deep-rooted family relationship God has given us love and the right to come to Him, calling him Father.

6. Silence. The desert and mountain –peaks are found to serve as two important places of silence for God’s Interference in man’s life. It was to these two uninhabitated places that Jesus went to communicate with his Father ( Mathew 4:1, 14:22:mark 1:35) We need to practice of silence and meditation to hear the still small voice of God talking to our souls. The meditation of the word of God we read, is necessary to take root in our hearts. Silence is the toll to tune into God and to ourselves. Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God.

7. Prayer Prayer is not for making changes in God. It is to makes us more loving, forgiving humble and just. The Orthodox Christian Prayer Life is a combination of public worship in the Church, family prayer and prayer in solitude. As we pray during the Holy communion, other sacramental rites, family worship and as we hear others praying,we must concentrate on the prayers and try to relate to God.

8. Fasting Christians have always fasted during lent, as a preparation to participate in Holy communion and also on Wednesdays and Fridays. They fast to enrich themselves through communion with God who is the Bread of Life and a better food for the soul than that for the body.

9. Shubkono. The meaning of this word is reconciliation( reunion) The emphasis of the shubkono service conducted at the beginning of the lent is peace through forgiveness. We enter into profound relationship with God during Lent as we forgive one another and make peace. It is with the purpose that the ‘Kiss of peace’ is arranged during the Holy Communion. Jesus has taught us definitely that unless we forgive one another we cannot relate ourselves to God. ( matthew 5:23,24; 6:15)

10. Repentance Sin is estrangement from God. Repentance is to turn to God, giving up all evil deeds, and evil desires. The determination not to repeat the evil spirit is also part of repentance. It is essential to repent and to participate in the Holy Communion, to grow spiritually to grow in God. Without this purification nobody can relate to God or have vision of Him (Mathew 5:8) Confession is the repetition of baptism. The progress from repentance is to love God and to commit ourselves to obedience of the commandments.
