2 Udaan Scheme – An Introduction
Background An ‘Expert Group’ was set up by the Prime Minister vide PMO notification no. 670/57/C/15/2010-ES-1 dated August 18, 2010 in the context of enhancing the employment opportunities in J&K and formulating a job plan involving both the public and private sectors Objectives A Special Industry Initiative for J&K as a partnership between the corporates of India and Ministry of Home Affairs A program to provide skills training and enhance the employability of 40,000 unemployed youth of J&K Aim To provide an exposure to the unemployed graduates to the best of Corporate India To provide Corporate India, an exposure to the rich talent pool available in the State Key Stakeholders Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship State and Local Government Bodies (Jammu & Kashmir) Corporate India Youth of J&K Implementation Agency (IA) NSDC

3 Udaan Scheme – Evolution of the scheme
-First Udaan Proposal Approval committee was held on 16th of November, 2011 -Future Human Development Limited was approved to train youth of Jammu and Kashmir -Udaan website was launched On 26th, March, 2012 -On September, An online interview skills program (Vmock) was launched -Revised Udaan guidelines were approved by Cabinet on 24th January, 2013 to ensure more youth and corporate join hands with the scheme -Deployment of mobilisation team in the state -Advocacy efforts- like FB Page, information Seminars etc. started -Udaan Mission Management Unit was made by Dept. of Planning & Development, J&K Government -Implementation of the scheme halted for more than 3 months due to floods and elections -Post the floods,16 Udaan mega drives were conducted across the state resulting in 3,564 joining from Nov’14- April ‘15 -Udaan Helpline was launched for counselling -Youth Adhaar Enrolment has started -Udaan Mobile App launched -Mentorship program Structured for trainees

6 Corporate partnerships
Proposal Approval Process Submission Corporate submits proposal The viability of the proposal is undertaken basis guidelines Proposal Evaluation Committee (PEC) recommends the proposal Proposal Approval Committee chaired by JS(K), MHA approves the proposal MoU is signed between NSDC and the approved Corporate Due diligence Evaluation Approval Signing of Mou Financial norms per candidate Disbursal of funds schedule Incidental expenses Travel cost Boarding & lodging costs for 180 days Stipend INR 2500 per month for six months, Travel and medical – accident insurance, INR.1500 per candidate) Total of the above cannot exceed INR 1,35,625 per candidate. Fixed Cost Corporate will be given INR 50,000/- per candidate if the corporate provides employment to the candidate for 90 days within 6 months of completion of training INR 50,000/- per candidate Installment Tranche Condition 1st instalment 35% At the beginning of training 2nd Instalment On achieving 50% of the annual plan and utilizing 50% of the Ist instalment 3rd Instalment 30% On achieving 100% of the annual plan and utilizing of 90% of the sum of funds released Fixed cost INR 50,000/- per candidate A candidate is employed for 3months within 6 month of completion of training

12 Selection and Training
Youth from across the state are joining the program More than 70,000 candidates registered on Udaan website More than 11,000 candidates have joined training since the inception of program Youth represented from all 22 districts of J&K Candidates joined in various cities of India including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata , Bengaluru etc. Udaan Training centers across the country
