Quinceañera Presentation
LA CLASE DE ESPAÑOL

What is a Quinceañera The Quinceañera, is a coming of age party for girls celebrated in many Latin American countries, Mexico, and among Latino immigrants. It is usually celebrated on a girl’s fifteenth birthday, and can range from a party composed primarily of family and close friends to elaborately arranged balls. It is somewhat similar to the sweet 16 party, but tends to be more formerly organized. It can also be seen as similar to the bat mitzvah, since the girl is officially a young woman after its celebration.

Quinceañera Party At most quinceañera parties the first dance is always with her father. Which is the waltz. On this day everything must be in order for the quinceañera. Cake, dancing and happiness is about. This will be a very special day. Misa

The Ceremony Today's ceremonies embrace religious traditions, and the virtues of family and social responsibility. The custom is a celebration of the young girl (la Quinceanera), and a recognition of her journey from childhood to maturity. The celebration highlights God, family, friends, music, food, and dance. It is customary for the Quinceanera to receive some or all of the following items for her ceremony: tiara bracelet or ring earrings cross or medal Bible or Prayer Book and Rosary scepter

The Family The family is very important in a quinceanera and very emotional!

The Cake A Quinceanera is a huge event in a young lady's life. It's practically the equivalent of a wedding for teens, minus only the groom. All the details are appropriately attended to and can take a whole year to plan, and some families will even tell you that they had been planning it for longer. From candles to flower arrangements, party favors to music choices, this is a celebration that requires precision organization to ensure that the day is a success and Hispanic families enjoy using the party to honor their guests as much as their daughter who is turning fifteen. For this reason, it's important to get everything right. Quinceanera cake ideas come in very handy when trying to develop concepts that all tie in with each other, including the color scheme and the decoration ideas for the reception. Quinceanera cake ideas can be as original as the young lady herself. She will enjoy coming together with her cousins, siblings and older relatives to discuss the finer details and design. It can be an elaborate concoction of layers of chocolate cake and ganache, laced with liqueur and cherries or a simple sponge covered in frosting and fresh strawberries.

The First Dance Similar to a wedding reception, quinceañera parties have three parts. There is a presentation of the girl and her court, a dinner, and a party with dancing. The exact order and style of the presentation ceremony varies from country to country.

The Waltz In the past, the father/daughter dance was followed by a choreographed dance of the entire court of honor, usually another waltz. That happens less often now, but the practice is still popular in some areas. “Some churches might not allow the girl to do everything she wants to during the mass, like the coronation ceremony. Move those elements to the party, which is much more flexible than the church service,” says Isabella Wall of Bella Quinceañera, who works with 100s of quinceañeras each year. During the evening, the girl’s parents and godparents toast the quinceañera, commenting on her new adult role, her growing faith or their pride and love for her.

What do you think about Hispanic tradition
Ashley- I think that Hispanic traditions are less fun than American traditions such as {sweet sixteen’s} Karina- I think that American traditions are way different than Hispanic traditions.
