5 What is the scale on a map anyway? A scale tells how many feet or miles each in on the map stands for

6 Why would we need a scale on a map?? Maps are always drawn smaller than the places they show. The scale is needed to translate distances on the map to distances in the real world.

12 Using Directions On A Map Directions on a map are different than the directions we used in our everyday life.
