3 Section 1.8– Wind Energy Definition Wind is the flow of gases or air on a large scale. In meteorology, winds are often referred to according to their strength, and the direction from which the wind is blowing. The two main causes of large-scale atmospheric circulation are the differential heating between the equator and the poles, and the rotation of the planet.

Costly to surrounding wildlife. The noise pollution is sometimes similar to a small jet engine. Protests and/or petitions usually confront any proposed wind farm development.
