2 You will need to back up all files on your computer Your desktop My Documents –Pictures –Music –Video –Word, notebook files, spreadsheets, etc. Internet shortcuts.Internet shortcuts Don’t forget to remove discs and flash drives!!.

3 Back up your desktop 1 st Double-click on my computer 2 nd Double-click on Local Disk C: 3rd Double-click on Documents and Settings 4th Double-click on your name 5 th. Click on Desktop 6 th. Right click and choose copy.

4 Back up your desktop (Cont) 7 th Go back to my computer and double-click on my computer 8 th Double click on your folder 9th: Right click on a blank sopt and choose paste. Done: your desktop is copied over.

5 Back up your documents 1 st Double-click on my computer 2 nd Double-click on Local Disk C: 3rd Double-click on Documents and Settings 4th Double-click on your name 5 th. Click on My documents 7 th. Right click and choose copy.

6 Back up My Documents (Cont) 7 th Go back to my computer and double-click on my computer 8 th Double click on your folder 9th: Right click on a blank sopt and choose paste. Done: your documents are copied over.

7 Back up your Favorites 1 st On the file menu choose Import and export 2 nd : Choose export to a file. Then click on next 3rd: Choose Favorites. Then click on next. (Only choose feeds if you use them.) 4 th : Go with the default choice unless you saved them elsewhere.

8 Back up your favorites (Cont) 5 th : Click on browse. 6 th : Click on the drop down arrow by my documents. Choose your folder. Last: Click on save. This will save a file called bookmark.htm on your m: drive You can import this when you are upgraded..
