2 Overview Shortcuts are quick ways to get to the items you use often. You can put a shortcut to any program, document, or printer on your desktop or in any folder.

3 Creating a New Shortcut in My Computer This procedure is almost the same as creating a new short cut from Windows Explorer. Reminder - Microsoft has two Explorer programs. Windows Explorer is for File Management. Internet Explorer is for Internet Browsing.

4 FIRST: Select My Computer

5 Second: Open the appropriate file and then right click.

6 Third: A New Shortcut Icon Will Appear

7 Finally: Drag the New Shortcut Icon To the Desktop

8 Details This will place a shortcut to on your desktop. You can then open Mis1b.Exam by double- clicking its shortcut icon. A shortcut does not change the document's location. Deleting a shortcut does not delete the original file.

9 Creating Shortcuts Using Taskbar

10 First: Select the Taskbar Icon

11 Second: Select the Add Button begin the procedure for adding a shortcut.

12 Third: Select the Browse Button to choose the program for which you want to create a shortcut

13 Fourth: Open the Folder with the correct file, select that file, and click on Open.

14 Fifth: Click the Next Button

15 Sixth: Select the Desktop Icon and Select the Next Button. This will place the Icon on the Desktop.

16 Finally: Type in your desired name for the shortcut, and then click the Finished Button.
