3. You start each class with 100% Each class is worth 15 points 5 pts for SO 9 th grade An absence is worth 0 points Health Article Critique Form is available to make up those pointsHealth Article Critique Form Available in the weight room and on the school website

4. Do Not Cut Health/PE You need to pass Health/PE to graduate from high school If you cut Health/PE 1 time: –2 hour Saturday detention and –Lose one letter grade for the marking period If you cut Health/PE 2 times: –Fail for the marking period

5. How to get all of your points Positive participation/demonstrates enthusiasm Follows directions/willingness to work & learn Shows respect for other students & teachers Cooperates/works well with all students & teachers Shows good sportsmanship

6. How to lose points For being inattentive/talkative during class For lack of effort For being off task/unable to follow directions For lack of self discipline/control/motivation For inappropriate language For eating food and/or beverages in class For using cell phones, headphones, iPods, mp3 players, video games in class For being late to class For not wearing sneakers during class

7. How to lose all of your points Disruptive or abusive behavior Destruction of equipment/school property For not participating in class Missed classes/absences (that are not made up with the appropriate form)

8. Points Summary Each class is worth 15 points (5 pts for SO 9 th ) If you miss a class, you will receive 0 points If you miss a class, make it up Participate in all activities and have a positive attitude!!!

9. Uniforms You must wear sneakers for all classes!!! Do not ask if you can sit out of an activity because of your choice of footwear and clothing for that day…the answer is “NO” Bring extra clothes, shoes, and socks…the field may be wet

10. Behavior You are expected to act like mature, young adults If you cannot, points will be deducted and you may receive a 2-hour Saturday detention Students have been removed from North Montco because of their behavior in Health/PE

11. Medical You must provide a parent note and medical documentation to your instructor if a medical issue exists that will prevent you from participating Includes: asthma, allergies, cramps, sports injuries, etc. Students that provide documentation must complete a make up assignment to receive credit Without a note, you will be expected to participate in all activities to the best of your ability

12. Health/PE Activities There will be many opportunities to participate in sports and other activities Do not waste these opportunities by having a negative attitude Have fun, do the best you can, learn from each other

13. Homework Take the syllabus home and review it with your parent/guardian Complete page 3 of the syllabus, “Course Syllabus Sign Off” Return completed page 3 to your health/pe instructor You cannot participate in class until page 3 has been returned, and points will be deducted
