5 “V” is for Variety BALANCE Keeps taste buds alert and happy More satisfied with your meals More likely to provide your body with a wide source of necessary vitamins and minerals.

6 “M” is for Moderation Moderation is avoiding excesses or extremes. “All good things in moderation!” No foods are “off limits”. Consider “how often” and “how much”!

7 “M” is for Moderation Consider “how often” and “how much” Ice cream for dessert Potato chips for a snack Handful of pretzels before lunch Happy Meal at McDonald’s Crispy apple from the farm A juice box while waiting for dinner

8 “P” is for Proportion Proportion is the size of the serving. “How much” part of moderation. It’s not always what we eat but how much of it we eat! What do you consider to be a reasonable serving?
