2 Student Behavior Be prompt o Be ready to learn when class begins. Be prepared o Have materials with you and know due dates. Be a polite and positive participant o Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. Be productive o Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Be a problem solver o Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate. “the brighter you are, the more you have to learn..” Don Herold.

3 Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect. Honor the ideas and opinions of others. Offer to help, participate. Be responsible with property and belongings. 4 Responsibility for Coursework Bring laptop, textbook, paper or appropriate writing tools to class. Know all due dates, and submit all coursework on time. All assignments are posted on the syllabus and on the class website(s). “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” Confucius

5 Promote Lifelong Learning In this class you can develop lifelong learning traits: o By showing curiosity about human nature and how the world works. o By seeking and valuing simple, elegant, correct and cost-effective solutions. o By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change. o By learning and applying technology tools to solve problems. “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” - J.K. 6 Policies Food and beverages are not allowed in the classroom (Except: dark chocolate/cookies/brownies for teacher). Please come to class on time. If you are late, enter class quietly and take a seat – do not disturb class. If you need to leave early, please inform teacher before class starts and seat close to an exit door so you can exit quietly. Some assignments and projects can be resubmitted. They will be graded with a prorated deduction. Absences o Ask team members or a classmate first for assignments. o You are responsible for material covered in class. “computers are useless, they can only give you answers..” P. Picasso.

7 Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points. Points are based on: o Class participation (effort) o Completion of assignments (daily work) o Major projects, exams, and self-reflection Grades are posted online and updated every weekend. Our Grading Scale 90-100% = A 87-89% = B+ 80-86% = B 77-79% = C+ 70-76% = C 67-69% = D+ 60-66% = D Below 60% = F Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible. “imagination is more important than knowledge...” A. 10 However, in this class… assumes you already know the basic about computer operations, application software, studying and being resourceful… will emphasize new material (for some or most) and will not have time to teach stuff you should already know... will give you plenty of time to do all homework assignments and exams.
